Formed in France as a ragga outfit, Raggasonic brought together Frenchie (Francois Allegre), Big Red (Stéphane Joaquim), and Daddy Mory (Mory Samaké). Emerging in the early ’90s, the trio secured a deal with Virgin in their native country and went on to issue a pair of albums before the decade closed. Their self-titled debut arrived in 1995 and climbed to number 15 on the French albums chart. That same year the group joined Air, La Funk Mob, and DJ Cam on the inaugural Source Lab compilation. Raggasonic 2 surfaced in 1997, landing at number 32, yet the band split the following year; six years afterward a career overview titled Rude Best Of: 95-99 collected their work. The members reconvened in 2009 and returned properly in 2012 with Raggasonic 3, released through PIAS.
