Rebeca Jiménez crafts an eclectic style as a Spanish singer and songwriter, pulling influence from the classic songwriting of Tom Waits and Bob Dylan, the rock en español outfits Nacha Pop and Radio Futura, and the electronica of Morcheeba and Portishead. She came into the world in Segovia in 1975 as the sister of actress Lucía Jiménez, having begun piano and music theory lessons at an early age. While still at university she launched her career as frontwoman of the blues-rock group Rosebund. Her relocation to Vienna to complete her studies brought appearances in the film Shacky Carmine, two albums recorded with Madrid de los Austrias, and an unreleased LP made with David Kano under the Soulsugar name. Contributions to projects by M-Clan, Maldita Nerea, and Quique González came next, leading to her own debut solo album Todo Llegara in 2008 and the follow-up Valiente in 2011.
