Biography
Brooklyn native Ruben Gomez, the Latin-pop vocalist who once belonged to Menudo, launched his professional career at age six by appearing in a McDonald's commercial. His first musical performance came four years later when he took the stage as an Elvis impersonator at New York City's Village Gate. Gomez entered Menudo in 1987 at the age of twelve and stayed with the teen group for four years, appearing on seven LPs; afterward he studied acting and performed on Broadway in Oliver. Following his signing to Arista Latin, he issued his self-titled solo debut in 1997.
