Biography
Ryukyu Underground comprises Souljazz, Inc. DJ Keith Gordon alongside Jon Taylor, a partnership that fuses Okinawan traditional folk music with ambient, hip-hop, trip-hop, dub, and drum'n'bass textures. Their "Tinsaga Nu Hana Dub" joined tracks by fellow Okinawan performers Nenes, Rinsho Kadekaru, and Misako Ohshiro on the 2001 anthology The Rough Guide to the Music of Okinawa. The following year Riverboat Records issued the duo's self-titled debut album.
