Born in Detroit and now based in Los Angeles, Sam Austins works as a musician, songwriter, and model while navigating wide-ranging possibilities across sound and style. Early notice arrived through joint efforts with Take a Daytrip, after which he issued his first album, Homeless Star, in 2021. The EP Boy Toy followed in 2023, and the sparkling “Seasons” achieved viral status in 2024. He then released the track “Say What You Mean.”

Drawing on the spheres of music, fashion, and art, the alternative pop performer reached mainstream audiences in 2017 when “Fiji,” a collaboration with Take a Daytrip, exceeded one million streams. Subsequent placements appeared in VH1’s Love & Hip Hop and HBO’s Euphoria, accompanied by the singles “Las Money,” “Wings,” and “Star.” In 2020 Austins signed with Atlantic Records and began rolling out material from his forthcoming debut. “Kilos” and “Joy for Youth” (featuring Sir Chloe) surfaced in early 2021, leading later that year to the energetic Homeless Star, which blended R&B, alternative hip-hop, and pop. Following a 2022 Lollapalooza set and a tour supporting Dora Jar, he introduced his second EP. Boy Toy, released in 2023, presented polished art-pop selections such as “Sweet Tooth” and “Oatmeal Pancakes” that spanned multiple alt-pop and R&B variants. “Seasons” arrived in 2024 and became Austins’ most-streamed recording to date. A club mix of “Seasons” and the energetic “Say What You Mean” also surfaced that year.
