Biography
Around 1988, Schlong originated in the Oakland County region once frequented by Operation Ivy. Local warehouse parties hosted the group repeatedly, though they performed under multiple monikers initially. Later on, Schlong became their official designation, inspired by a feline they encountered regularly. In 1996, the outfit put out Punk Side Story, their debut album presenting an intoxicated punk rendition of West Side Story, after which they quickly faded from view. The following year saw a compilation of their singles emerge, yet by then the ensemble had informally ceased operations, remaining inactive from the middle of the 1990s onward.
