Tsunami Bomb

Around 1999 bassist Dominic Davi assembled Bay Area punk outfit Tsunami Bomb, recruiting vocalist Agent M, guitarist Mike Griffen, and drummer Gabe Lindeman. The quartet displayed its California punk roots openly while pursuing nationwide exposure through nonstop roadwork. Early 7" singles issued on Checkmate, the label operated by A.F.I. bassist Hunter Bergan, together with the audience cultivated by relentless touring, strengthened the group’s profile. Impressed by that persistence, the independent Kung Fu imprint (home to the Vandals and the Ataris) signed Tsunami Bomb in 2002 and issued the full-length The Ultimate Escape that September. In spring 2003 the band joined the Warped Tour circuit. At the close of summer Davi departed for personal reasons and later formed Love Equals Death; bassist Matt McKenzie stepped in. The Definitive Act arrived in fall 2004. Soon afterward Griffen exited and Jay Northington took over on guitar. Tsunami Bomb maintained its touring pace throughout the following year and documented one show on a live DVD, yet internal strains tied to industry operations prompted the group’s dissolution in fall 2005. The members reconvened in 2018.
