Petra Marklund, known professionally as September, works as a dance-pop singer and performer from Sweden. Born in 1984, Marklund had secured a record deal plus a collaborative production team by age eighteen, setting the stage for chart domination. The single "La La La (Never Give Up)" marked her debut and reached the Top Ten in Sweden, after which September issued her first album in 2004. Follow-up release In Orbit arrived awash with hit singles, and the track "Satellites" created minor waves in America. September joined the Sopot Festival lineup in 2007 while issuing her next album, Dancing Shoes. Strong single sales continued throughout her native country even though her albums charted more modestly, with Dancing Shoes reaching the highest position at number 12. She has also posted solid results on singles charts elsewhere in Europe.
