Biography
Puerto Rican performer Sergio Blass first entered the music world through stints with the groups Los Chicos, Menudo, and Amnezzya. Producer Angelo Medina persuaded him to relocate to Mexico, where he secured a deal with PolyGram and launched his solo path via the 1994 album Sergio. The track “Siempre Te Amaré,” modeled on the Police’s “Every Breath You Take,” marked Blass’ initial success. The next year he took a leading part in the widely followed telenovela Agujetas De Color De Rosa. In 1996 Sergio Blass co-produced Sueño Salvaje, featuring a notable version of Peggy Lee’s “Fever” alongside the romantic ballad “Amiga Tú,” which drew from his past relationship; both tracks quickly gained popularity. Ayúdame a Ser Tuyo appeared in 1998.
