Biography
Serpentina emerged in 2000 when Spanish singer/songwriter Paco Tamarit launched the project as his own vehicle for melodic, complex neo-psychedelic indie pop pieces in the vein of Chad & Jeremy, the Essex Green, Parade, and Louis Philippe. His sister María Tamarit joined him in 2002, turning the effort into an official duo. A contract with Spanish indie label Annika arrived the next year and yielded the full-length debut Blancamañana in 2004. Additional tours and recording sessions ensued, leading the group to begin mixing its second album in 2007. Influences that stretch from Ennio Morricone to Margo Guryan to the Cardigans shaped Planeando en Tu Azotea, issued in 2008 on the Elefant Spain imprint.
