Biography
The Christian punk outfit Side Walk Slam consists of vocalist and guitarist Marcuss Hall, bassist David Curtis, and drummer Matthew Jackson. Drawing from the melodic punk approach associated with Southern California, the band absorbed influences from both nonreligious acts such as All and Descendents and faith-oriented groups including MxPx and Ghoti Hook. The trio began as a cover unit before shifting to regular performances of original songs written by Hall. After signing with Tooth & Nail, the leading Christian punk label, they released their debut album Past Remains in summer 2001, with Give Back following the next year.
