Sie7e

Distinguished from the alternative rock outfit El Sie7e based in Columbia, Puerto Rico native Sie7e works as a Latin pop singer/songwriter whose wide-ranging approach blends rock en español and tropical influences alongside pop and reggae. David Rodríguez Labault first issued a full-length album in 2006, releasing the self-titled Sie7e through the independent Musica Estival imprint. His next project, Para Mi (2008), arrived via a joint effort with Machete Music and proved a breakout release whose singles included "Aló," "Cógelo," and "Don't Worry Be Happy," the last of these a Spanglish cover version of Bobby McFerrin's 1988 international smash hit. Several years afterward Sie7e delivered his third album, Mucha Cosa Buena (2011), on the independent label La Vida Buena Music. A Top Ten hit on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart, the set contains the singles "Tengo Tu Love" and "Mucha Cosa Buena."
