Rawayana

Rawayana came together in Caracas during 2007, later earning worldwide acclaim through their lively blend of rock, reggae, ska, funk, and Caribbean rhythms. The group features Alberto Montenegro handling guitar and lead vocals alongside Antonio Casas on bass, Andrés Story on drums, and Alejandro Abeijón on guitar. Their first record, Licencia Para Ser Libre from 2011, brought immediate success throughout Venezuela. International reach became the focus for the next album, Rawayanaland in 2013, which incorporated appearances by Natalia Lafourcade and DJ Afro of Los Amigos Invisibles. Latin Grammy-nominated Trippy Caribbean from 2016 further established that global presence. Regular performances at major festivals have enabled consistent touring throughout Latin America, the U.S., and Europe as well. Recent projects Cuando Los Acéfalos Predominan in 2021 and ¿Quién Trae Las Cornetas? in 2023 feature joint efforts involving Akapellah, Fer Casillas, Marc Seguí, Rafa Pabón, Danny Ocean, Monsieur Periné, among numerous others.
