Silverbacks

Silverbacks, a five-piece Irish indie and post-punk outfit, fuse tightly wound, interlocking guitar lines with sharp-tongued commentary on mainstream culture. Brothers Daniel and Kilian O'Kelly launched the project on guitar and vocals, after which the lineup swiftly expanded to five with the addition of Peader Kearney on guitar, Emma Hanlon on bass and vocals, and Gary Wickham on drums. Based in Dublin, the group drew on the city’s vibrant music scene and recruited Girl Band’s Daniel Fox to helm production of their earliest material, among them the 2018 debut singles “Dunkirk” and “Just in the Band.” Fox continued in that role for the band’s first full-length release, Fad, which arrived in 2020.
