Emerging from Gothenburg, Sweden, the female-fronted rock outfit Sister Sin delivers hard-hitting old-school metal that calls to mind Warlock, W.A.S.P., Hanoi Rocks, and Motörhead, together with more recent yet equally retro-leaning groups such as Spiders, Graveyard, and Hardcore Superstar. The band formed in 2002 and, fronted by the fierce and charismatic Liv "Sin" Jagrell, released its debut album Dance of the Wicked the next year, an effort later reissued in 2013. After several lineup adjustments the group issued the well-received Switchblade Serenades on Victory Records in 2008 and launched an extensive run of international tours. Retaining its Victory affiliation and locking in the core roster of Jagrell on vocals, Jimmy Hiltula on guitar, Dave Sundberg on drums, and Strandh on bass, Sister Sin delivered its third album True Sound of the Underground in 2010, followed by Now and Forever in 2012 and the Rikard Lofgren and Gustav Ydenius-produced Black Lotus in 2014.
