Biography
Having performed for more than ten years, Sôber—one of Spain’s leading hard rock outfits from the 1990s—split into two distinct projects, Skizoo being the one launched by guitarists Jorge Escobedo and Antonio Bernardini. Vocalist Morti, bassist Daniel Criado and drummer Dani Pérez completed the initial lineup. Under EMI, the group issued its first album, Skizoo, in May 2005, three months after Savia, the parallel band formed by ex-Sôber singer Carlos Escobedo (Jorge’s brother) and drummer Alberto Madrid, delivered its own debut, Insensible. Three singles—“Arriésgate,” “Renuncia al Sol” and “Habrá Que Olvidar”—emerged from the record, prompting EMI to re-release it in 2006 with additional tracks. In 2007 Skizoo returned with Incerteza, now featuring bassist Edu Fernandez who had succeeded Daniel Criado in 2005; the single “Dame Aire” helped the album connect with Spanish hard rock listeners.
