Biography
The Spanish metal outfit Warcry first took shape during 2001. While serving as members of Avalanch, drummer Alberto Ardines and vocalist Victor Garcia began exchanging ideas for songs that their existing group had no intention of pursuing. They enlisted guitarists Fernando Mon and Pablo Garcia to help capture these compositions in the studio on an independent basis. By 2002 the sessions stood nearly finished, yet Avalanch’s doubts about the pair’s dedication prompted Ardines and Victor Garcia to depart and establish the project as a separate entity. Joined by Mon on guitar, Alvaro Jardon on bass, and Manuel Ramil on keyboards, they finished and released Warcry’s debut album, El Sello del Tiempos, in 2003. The band then embarked on nationwide tours that steadily expanded its audience in each city visited. In January 2004 the follow-up record, Alea Jacta Est, reached stores and triggered another round of extensive live dates. Bassist Roberto Garcia entered the lineup in 2005, the same year the group delivered its third album, Donde Esta la Luz?. Recognition arrived in 2006 when AMAS, Metalzone, and Rockferendum each nominated Warcry for honors tied to the fourth release, La Quinta Esencia. Already established across Spain, the band has since begun attracting attention from metal listeners throughout Latin America.
