Biography
Embracing the shadowy rawness associated with post-punk outfits from the early 1980s, the Australian quartet Slug Guts secured a deal with Stained Circles Records—also home to fellow countrymen Eddy Current Suppression Ring—just months after forming. Their debut full-length, Down on the Meat, appeared in 2009. Once they had completed tours of Australia and Japan, the group returned to the studio and completed 2011’s Howlin' Gang, which Sacred Bones released in the U.S. The band’s third album, Playin’ in Time with the Deadbeat, surfaced on Sacred Bones in summer 2012 and stood as their most tightly constructed and forceful statement to that point.
