Emerging initially under the name Social Club, the Christian hip-hop duo Social Club Misfits assembled in 2011 and delivered hard-hitting, faith-driven rhymes over modern hip-hop beats. Their bow arrived with the 2012 Misfits EP, after which they rolled out multiple projects, among them 2014’s Misfits 2—the first to reach the Billboard 200—before securing a major-label contract in 2016. That debut major release, The Misfit Generation, added melodic vocal textures and posted one of their strongest chart showings to that point. Steady yearly output kept the run alive and carried the act into the next decade with 2020’s Feared by Hell.

Miami-bred rappers Martymar and F.E.R.N. introduced the project via the gratis 2012 download album Misfits. The Misfits EP followed later in 2012, Rejects landed in 2013, and the free album The Summer of George arrived the same year. Their first commercial album, 2014’s Misfits 2, climbed into the Top Ten of Billboard’s rap chart, while Us reached number nine on that same tally in 2015. Solo efforts also surfaced that year: F.E.R.N.’s 68 Douglas EP and Martymar’s Marty for President EP. Signing with Capitol in 2016 yielded the Misfit Generation EP and the single “Courage.” Fifth LP The Misadventures of Fern & Marty arrived in 2017, entering the rap chart at number four and peaking at number two on the Christian chart. Late that year the pair dropped singles “Dive” and “Say Goodbye,” both later included on 2018’s Into the Night. Social Club Misfits resurfaced in early 2019 with “Everytime,” drawn from Mood//Doom, the combined Mood. and Doom. EPs issued that year. Feared by Hell opened the 2020s for the duo.
