Atlanta rapper 1K Phew crafts tracks centered on his beliefs yet built for club play and car speakers. His modern rap approach wraps Christian themes around beats from Metro Boomin and Zaytoven while spotlighting both emerging MCs and proven names such as Young Dro. Across a steady stream of releases he has fused trap energy with sincere, motivational verses, a balance that defines projects including the 2024 set Pray For Atlanta.

Born Isaac Gordon in 1995 in Stone Mountain, Georgia, just beyond Atlanta’s city limits, he absorbed rap early through the work of local icons OutKast and Dungeon Family. A shooting that he and his friends survived prompted a turn toward Christianity, which soon shaped the content of his music. By the middle of the decade he was dropping mixtapes such as Sunday Night in 2015 and Life in 2016, drawing regional and national notice for his assured delivery and lyrical skill. In 2017 he joined Reach Records, maintained a heavy touring schedule, issued the Never Too Late mixtape, and appeared on Lecrae’s Metro Boomin-produced single “Hammer Time.” After the 2018 tracks “Zoo Atlanta” and “We Did It,” he unveiled the 2019 mixtape What’s Understood; its sequel What’s Understood 2 followed before year’s end. A run of singles preceded the 2021 joint album No Church In A While with Lecrae. The 2022 release As I Am brought appearances from Jonathan McReynolds, Trip Lee, and additional guests, while Pray For Atlanta in 2024 carried Zaytoven production alongside verses from Pastor Troy, Young Dro, and Hunxho.
