Florida rapper KB burst onto the Christian hip-hop landscape in 2012 when his first project, Weight & Glory, claimed the top spot on the Billboard Christian Albums chart. He matched that accomplishment on three later occasions with the 2015 release Tomorrow We Live, the 2017 album Today We Rebel, and the 2020 set His Glory Alone. In 2023 the multiple Dove Award-winning artist unveiled his fifth studio album, His Glory Alone II.

During his turbulent high-school years, KB—born Kevin Elijah Burgess—faced mental-health challenges until a Christian rap CD from a friend brought him to faith. A single hearing set him on course for a hip-hop ministry. Lacking connections within the Christian rap community, he produced early demos without distribution channels, yet uploads to video platforms and social networks quickly built a dedicated audience. Superstar Lecrae discovered the material, booked KB as an opening act, and after five performances extended an offer to join Lecrae’s Reach label. The 2011 mixtape Who Is KB? came next, followed a year later by the official debut Weight & Glory. In 2014 the EP 100 arrived, highlighted by a collaboration with Andy Mineo.

KB returned in 2015 with his second studio album, Tomorrow We Live, which included appearances by Mattie and professional golfer Bubba Watson alongside the Top 30 single “Sideways” featuring Lecrae. Two years afterward he issued Today We Rebel, his third full-length, again enlisting Lecrae and Mineo while adding Aha Gazelle, Casey J, and additional guests. Lead track “Monster” reached the Top 40 on the Christian singles chart, a mark he equaled the following year when “No Chains” peaked at number 30. Throughout 2019 he kept releasing standalone singles such as “Hold Me Back” and “Lincoln” to stay active in the scene.

Entering the new decade, KB scored three Christian Top 40 hits that all appeared on his fourth album, His Glory Alone, which blended contemporary trap beats with features from Bizzle on “Let It Reign,” Tommy Royale on “Libre,” and Black Violin on “Dark Skin.” Momentum continued unabated into 2021 with further singles “Worship in the Moshpit,” “On Point,” and “So Tired” that included Bizzle and Zhalarina. Early 2023 brought the single “Glory 2 Glory,” previewing the fifth album His Glory Alone II, which also contained the Lecrae duet “Miracles.”
