From a young age, Aaron Cole cultivated his ambitions as a Christian rapper, singer, and songwriter, issuing multiple independent releases during childhood and his teenage years before securing a contract with Gotee Records in 2017 at age 18. The TobyMac collaboration “Right on Time” marked his arrival on the Christian charts, after which he maintained momentum with a series of singles highlighted by the hit “One More Day.” His debut full-length project for the label, Not by Chance, arrived in 2019, followed by Two Up Two Down in 2021 and the major-label debut Sorry, I Changed in 2024.

Born February 28, 1999, in Bristol, Virginia, Cole first entered the industry when his father—an audio engineer and musician—composed the rap track “Jesus Is the Rock,” which served as the title for the four-year-old’s initial album. Additional independent Christian rap efforts followed, among them 2007’s The Trinity and 2012’s 4th Period. After the 2016 EP If I Can Be Honest, Gotee Records signed him, yielding his first chart entry with the 2017 TobyMac duet “Right on Time.” The 2018 EP Virginia Boy supplied the bright, R&B-leaning single “One More Day,” which emphasized singing over rapping, a balance he sustained across later tracks such as “Mama Said” and “Patient with Me.” Not by Chance earned him the New Artist of the Year honor at the 2019 Dove Awards. Two Up Two Down, released in 2021, included appearances by Tauren Wells, TobyMac, Terrian, and Parris Chariz. Ahead of the 2024 major-label debut, Cole signed with RCA Inspiration and issued the two-song set Signing Bonus; Sorry, I Changed followed later that year, featuring the singles “Proof,” “I Love It,” and “SBTN” with Kirk Franklin.
