Aligning with leading West Coast rappers such as Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, and Mack 10 helped Soopafly build a solid reputation as one of the region’s stronger G-funk producers across the late 1990s and early 2000s. He never contributed substantially to Death Row’s landmark releases, including Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle, and 2Pac’s All Eyez on Me, yet he maintained a modest presence during the label’s less consequential late-1990s period. Several of his productions surfaced on albums issued from that phase, among them Daz Dillinger’s Retaliation, Revenge & Get Back, Snoop Dogg’s Dead Man Walkin’, and Suge Knight Presents: Chronic 2000. His standing grew noticeably by the close of 2000, when he supplied beats for tracks on Xzibit’s Restless (“Fuckin’ You Right,” “Rimz & Tires”) and Snoop Dogg’s Tha Last Meal (“Loosen’ Control”).
