Biography
Korean label SEL drew upon a broad array of talents from its extensive artist lineup when it launched the SOULBYSEL imprint to release a series of compilations spotlighting fresh recordings from its roster. The SOULBYSEL name made its first appearance in 2022, when SEL introduced SOULBYSEL Compilation 01, a ten-track album that highlighted several of the label’s most active performers. SUMIN, oceanfromtheblue, and Horim supplied the project’s core palette of airy pop and R&B textures, while Summer Soul and Austn contributed contrasting alternative approaches toward the end of the collection. Later that same year, two additional installments arrived in the form of SOULBYSEL Compilation 02 and Compilation 03, the first venturing into funk, hip-hop, and trap, and the second exploring electronic textures with a guest turn from Monsta X’s I.M.
