Emerging from Manila with a distinctive blend of R&B, shoegaze, and electronic dream pop, No Rome first honed his craft through several self-released projects in the Philippines before achieving wider recognition in 2018 upon joining the U.K. imprint Dirty Hit. There he partnered with the 1975’s Matty Healy for the EP RIP Indo Hisashi. After issuing the 2019 EP Crying in the Prettiest Places, he rejoined forces with the 1975 alongside Charli XCX for the 2021 single “Spinning,” which preceded his first full-length album, It’s All Smiles.

Rome Gomez grew up in Manila within a musical household and began writing and recording material at twelve. Working as a singer, songwriter, and producer, he adopted the No Rome alias in 2013 to present his relaxed electronic pop compositions, unveiling the debut EP Fantasy that year. A follow-up independent release, Hurry Home & Rest, surfaced in 2015, prompting a deal with London’s Dirty Hit Records—the same home to the 1975 and the Japanese House. He then enlisted 1975 members Matty Healy and George Daniel for his label introduction, the 2018 EP RIP Indo Hisashi, which included the breakout track “Narcissist.” May 2019 brought the EP Crying in the Prettiest Places, highlighted by the singles “Cashmoney” and “Pink.” Additional tracks arrived the next year, among them “Hurry Home” featuring Beabadoobee and Jay Som and “1:45AM” featuring Bearface. In 2021 the non-album cut “Spinning,” again involving the 1975 and Charli XCX, appeared, followed later that year by the arrival of his debut album, It’s All Smiles.
