Biography
In 1990 Kevin McKinney and Bill Cassis, who handled both guitar and vocal duties, launched Soulhat in Texas together with bassist Brian Walsh. Former Funkadelic drummer Barry E. "Frosty" Smith was added to round out the psychedelic blues-based funk ensemble, which issued its debut Outdebox independently in 1993 before Epic handled a later re-release. Live at the Black Cat appeared alongside the second studio LP Good to Be Gone in 1994. Soulhat returned six years afterward with Experiment on a Flat Plane.
