Stage Dolls

Emerging from Trondheim, Norway, this power trio began in 1983 with an initial lineup of Torstein Flakne on vocals and guitar after his stint in Kids, bassist Terje Storli, and drummer Erlend Antonson, who had previously played in Subway Sect; Steinar Krokstad eventually took over the drum chair. Their three albums merge advanced studio techniques with meticulously shaped album-oriented rock, threading every song with prominent melodies and shifting intensities. Drawn from the self-titled 1988 release, the single ‘Love Cries’ registered a modest US hit in 1989. That exposure earned them support slots on the Blue Murder and Warrant tours across the States that same year, yet they never extended the early gains.
