Biography
In the year 2000, Stigmato Inc. came together in Barcelona, Spain, after vocalist Danna Leese, originally from Washington, D.C. and previously involved with an experimental theatre company, encountered DJ Tito Rosell along with keyboardist Carles Sanchez, the latter pair having been engaged in scoring music for films and advertisements. What began as a plan to produce merely a selection of house recordings evolved rapidly into a comprehensive musical endeavor. With the inclusion of percussionist Yobanis Mesa and flutist Terence Butler, the ensemble put out its first album, Reality Check, via Utensil Recordings during the summer of 2003.
