Biography
The Fenians merge age-old Celtic folk material with modern selections, several of which originate from within the group itself. Beyond those Celtic foundations, the ensemble incorporates elements drawn from jazz, rock, bluegrass, and additional styles. Five members make up the lineup: Terry Casey handles mandolin and lead vocals, Rob Williams contributes guitar and vocals, Brendan Harkins plays bass and sings, Chris Pierce covers drums and vocals, and Tardu Yegin performs on flute, saxophone, and whistles.
Among the band’s recordings stand the live set Band of Rogues, captured during a sold-out 1999 engagement at the Galaxy Concert Theater, and the album Have Fun or Get Out!. Also in 1999, the quintet earned induction into the Guinness Wall of Fame. Festival and venue headlining appearances have included the Dublin Irish Festival, Galway’s The Quays, Hollywood’s House of Blues, Boston’s Stonehill Irish Festival, and the Chicago Irish Fest. Every Day’s a Hooley arrived in 2004.
