Biography
Emerging from Houston, Texas, in summer 2003, the noisy indie rock/grunge revivalists the Jonbenét—presumably taking their name from the murdered child beauty pageant contestant Jon Benet Ramsey—adopted the moniker as their own. The band first circulated a five-song EP and a seven-song demo through the local music circuit before Pluto Records approached them with an offer they accepted on the spot. Pluto then issued The Plot Thickens, a thorough anthology of everything the group had recorded up to that point, and followed it with the full-length Ugly/Heartless in May 2006.
