Biography
Originating from a comic figure drawn from ancient Celtic mythology, the Lord Weird Slough Feg claim one of rock's most eccentric monikers and first assembled in mid-'90s San Francisco under vocalist/guitarist Mike Scalzi. Drawing influence from foundational heavy metal acts such as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Queen (?), the group became recognized for frequently theatrical stage shows. Throughout the band's history drummer Greg Haa remained a steady presence, whereas bassists rotated with nearly each release, beginning with the self-titled 1996 debut and continuing through 1999's Twilight of the Idols and 2000's Down Among the Deadmen—the last of these also marking the arrival of second guitarist John Cobbett. In 2002 a European edition of the debut appeared with added tracks, while 2003 brought the fourth album, Traveller, which introduced bassist Adrian Maestas.
