Biography
The Oohlas, an indie rock band, place vocalist and guitarist Ollie Stone at the helm, with Mark Eklund anchoring the low end on bass and ex-Everclear drummer Greg Eklund switching to guitar. Lacking any steady drummer, the trio assembled in 2004 once Stone had left Phoenix for Los Angeles and crossed paths with Mark, then employed by Stone's aunt. Mark brought her together with Greg shortly after the latter exited Everclear. Rehearsals began right away inside Greg's studio, quickly followed by shows throughout the Los Angeles region. An EP surfaced on Stolen Transmission Records, an Island subsidiary, during February 2006. In September the Oohlas issued their full-length album Best Stop Pop.
