Biography
The Potbelleez, a DJ and house music duo born in Dublin yet based in Sydney, formed soon after their relocation from Ireland to Australia during 2001 and 2002. For the following couple of years, the duo dedicated themselves to performing as DJs at beach parties and various clubs throughout Sydney. Their profile accelerated in 2004 when they secured an initial performance slot at the iconic Sydney venue known as Home. They also earned selection for the 2005 Jim Beam Mix It Up tour, exposing them to international club and party scenes across the globe. Early achievements with remix work secured them a recording contract from Vicious Records, resulting in the 2007 release of their debut EP titled In the Junkyard. Because tracks from this EP featured in multiple television programs—occasionally serving as show themes—the momentum generated additional opportunities, such as the popular single "Don't Hold Back" along with 2008 DJ mix compilations issued by both Pacha and Ministry of Sound.
