Biography
Forming in February 2000 within the rural setting of Cotati, a town positioned fifty miles beyond San Francisco, the Rum Diary took shape as a California indie rock collective. Its members—multi-instrumentalists Joe Ryckebosch, Schuyler Feekes, Daniel McKenzie, and Jon Fee—pursue a dense fusion of dream pop and post-rock. Substandard Records issued the group’s first album, Noise Points, in 2002. Later that same year the EP Key to Slow Time appeared, and 2003 brought the widely praised Poisons That Save Lives. Devil in the Woods released We’re Afraid of Heights Tonight in 2006.
