Biography
Tonex, serving as singer, songwriter, producer, and youth leader, challenged expectations in contemporary Christian music with bold moves frequently likened to Prince. An audacious blend of gospel and R&B first reached listeners through his appearance on the Verity Records project WOW Gospel 2000. He launched his solo career in September 2000 via the Jive album Pronounced Toe-nay. Hostile Takeover followed the next year.
