Total Devastation

Formed in 1988 as a three-piece that included Rasta Redeye, Soopa Dupa, and DJ Tuf Cut Tim the Fat Beat Maker, Total Devastation came across as a less accomplished counterpart to Cypress Hill. The San Francisco outfit delivered its self-titled debut in 1993, blending reggae with hip-hop while maintaining an unwavering focus on marijuana. The underground success of the single Many Clouds of Smoke ensured a second album would follow. By the time that long-awaited release, Stone Age, surfaced five years later, the lineup had shrunk to the duo of Rasta Redeye and Big Tone.
