Biography
Formed in 1996 in Brescia, Italy, the melodic metal outfit Tragodia drew early comparisons to fellow acts such as the Provenance and Tiamat. Their opening release arrived as the 1998 demo Dramas in Splendent Realms, which was soon followed by additional demo tracks assembled on the mini-CD All Our Miseries. After those recordings the group shifted focus to live performances, playing extensively throughout Italy and across the border in Greece. A contract with the Dutch label Dark Balance eventually followed, granting them studio time for their first album. The Promethean Legacy appeared on October 1, 2007. Touring plans in support of the record were interrupted, however, by the exit of vocalist Carlo Vellani. Tragodia located a capable successor in Stafano Roncadori and resumed live activity without further delay.
