Biography
Initially performing under the name Movado, Harlem rapper Vado maintained ties to Cam'ron and the Dipset crew yet switched his stage identity to sidestep overlap with the reggae artist. He treated the revised name as shorthand for "Violence and Drugs Only." Early sessions paired him with Jae Millz, after which he entered Cam'ron's breakaway unit U.N. in 2009.
The following year brought a placement on DJ Khaled's We the Best Forever, and the 2011 joint project Gunz n' Butta documented his work with Cam'ron. Signing to DJ Khaled's We the Best label in 2013 preceded the single "Look Me in My Eyes," which included Rick Ross and French Montana. Debut EP Sinatra appeared in 2014.
