Violadores del Verso

Formed in 1997 by Kase-O (Javier Ibarra) together with Liriko (David Gilaberte), R de Rumba (Rubén Cuevas), and Sho-hai (Sergio Rodríguez, aka Hate), all previously linked to Bufank and el Aborto de la Música, the Latin rap foursome Violadores del Verso, also called Doble V, entered the Spanish hip-hop scene through this new project. Their first recording appeared in 1998 as a self-titled EP built from samples of jazz and electric funk tracks originating in the 1970s. Mierda arrived next, followed by the debut album Genios, which Leo Morris mixed in New York before Avoid Records issued it.
