Biography
Sibling rockers Violet Saturn fuse expansive hooks with pop-punk melodies that echo both timeless and contemporary rock traditions. Fronted by Lauren and Spencer Reed, the group launched its first single, “Sweetest Life,” in 2018, moving from local favorites to national contenders upon issuing the full-length All the Cool Kids in 2023.
Raised on a broad sonic palette that spanned pop, rock, heavy metal, hip-hop, classical, and country, the Reeds started writing together during their elementary years. Lauren’s commanding vocals and talent for crafting relatable lyrics meshed seamlessly with multi-instrumentalist Spencer’s instinctive musicianship, allowing the pair to generate original material at a rapid pace. By 2018 Violet Saturn had expanded into a trio through the addition of Nils Schmolka, issuing “Sweetest Life” as its inaugural track, followed by “Slither” later that year and “Surprise” in 2019. Two years afterward the band signed with Big Machine Records, delivering the anthemic singalong “Young and Dumb” and the high-energy rocker “Say Goodbye.” The next year brought “Who Is She?,” a jealousy-themed confection packed with earworm melodies, alongside the rousing “All the Cool Kids.” Both tracks featured on the siblings’ debut album, also titled All the Cool Kids, which arrived in 2023.
