Yves Deruyter

Shaven-headed Belgian DJ and producer Yves Deruyter entered the local club circuit in the early 1990s. He soon began issuing original material, scoring solid regional traction in both Belgium and Germany with several mid-decade releases that included the tracks “Rave City” and “Calling Earth.” Global attention followed in 1997 when his trance single “The Rebel” climbed dance charts in multiple countries. The following year brought his debut full-length, D-Album, which gathered every prior release. He next pursued joint projects alongside John the Dentist, John Digweed, and MIKE (Dirk Dierickx). In 2000 the quirky rave cut “Back to Earth” once again registered strongly on the German dance charts.
