Philadelphia singer/rapper Zero 9:36 blends precise raps with distorted guitars and glitchy electronic rhythms to move beyond conventional genre lines. After developing that approach over several years as an independent artist alongside frequent collaborator and producer No Love for the Middle Child, he joined ATCO Records and issued the 2019 EP You Will Not Be Saved. The project drew millions of streams, which led to tours supporting Shinedown, Bullet for My Valentine, and Neck Deep, plus the 2021 EP ...If You Don't Save Yourself, recorded with Travis Barker and Hollywood Undead; additional tracks were made with Atreyu and Scarlxrd.

Born Matthew Cullen on May 11, 1997, in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, a suburb 25 miles outside Philadelphia, he began rapping as a teenager under the name Zero. His underground audience expanded after the 2016 mixtape Paradise Campground appeared. Signing with ATCO in 2019 prompted the name change to Zero 9:36 for the You Will Not Be Saved EP. An acoustic follow-up, Barebones, Vol. 1, arrived the next year. The 2021 release ...If You Don't Save Yourself freely mixed metal, industrial, trap, and pop-punk elements with help from Travis Barker, Clever, and Hollywood Undead. Atreyu joined him on the 2022 single "Break," while later tracks included a Scarlxrd remix of the ...If You Don't Save Yourself song "The End" along with the 2024 releases "Kill Me" and "I Felt It All."
