ADP, otherwise known as Amish Patel, is a British electronic producer recognized for collaborations with Krept & Konan and M.I.A. At fourteen he first developed an interest in music upon encountering a friend’s CD mixes, which prompted him to start DJ’ing from his bedroom. Captivated by the sampling techniques and production credits listed on records, he began collecting drum samples and building his own beats. Drawing influence from Timbaland, Max Martin, and Bryan Michael Cox, his tracks soon spanned hip-hop, R&B, electropop, and dance. In 2008 he enrolled in commercial music studies at the University of Westminster, where he collaborated with Guy Chambers, Conor Maynard, and Tinie Tempah. After finishing his degree that same year, he concentrated on original material and secured his initial major production credit, shared with Steel Banglez, for Krept & Konan’s 2013 mixtape Young Kingz, which climbed to number ten on the U.K. album chart. In 2014 he joined BMG Rights Management and contributed to Sneakbo’s 2014 mixtape Certified, Krept & Konan’s 2015 album The Long Way Home, and M.I.A.’s 2016 track “Borders.” ADP issued his debut single, “No Good for Me,” featuring Jeremih and Ebenezer, in 2017.
