Biography
Aidan Bissett crafts catchy, fresh-sounding guitar-driven indie pop that carries a playful wit and easygoing feel. His initial online momentum came through the track "Different," which opened doors to the 2021 release More Than Friends EP and the follow-up I'm Alright If You're Ok EP in 2022. Throughout 2023 he kept momentum high by rolling out several singles, among them the standout cuts "Bloom" and "Out of My League."
Born in Tampa, Florida, Bissett passed most of his early years in Portland, Oregon, where he received his first guitar while still in second grade. During that period he absorbed classic rock from acts such as Led Zeppelin and AC/DC. When his family returned to Tampa he encountered indie rock groups including Wallows, COIN, and Tame Impala as a teenager. At age fifteen he assembled his first band and began performing live. After the group dissolved he continued composing material while learning to produce recordings on his home computer. The early COVID-19 lockdown period prompted him to share both covers and original songs on social platforms, where several tracks quickly drew attention and helped him build an audience. Among his listeners was singer and bassist Blu DeTiger, who connected him with a producer and set the stage for the breakout success of "Different." Additional songs followed, among them "More Than Friends," "Worst Girls of All Time," and "Communication." In 2021 he joined Capitol Records and gathered some of those earlier singles into his debut EP, More Than Friends. The next year brought I'm Alright If You're Ok, which included the track "Tripping Over Air." He opened 2023 with the sincere releases "Out of My League" and "Bloom," then issued the energetic "Sick" later in the year.
