Biography
A New York City-based multi-instrumentalist who writes, sings, and produces his own material, Alex Nackman issued his first album, the self-released Good Impressions, in 2003 when he turned twenty. Extensive road work followed, during which he shared stages with the Roots, Norah Jones, Buddy Guy, Glen Phillips, the Pat McGee Band, and Ari Hest. Those performances were documented on the 2004 live EP Stages. Long Road Records put out his second studio album, A Boy Who Thought He Knew, the next year. Sunrise Falls arrived in 2006 and featured songs that later appeared on MTV’s The Hills in March 2007 and Real World Denver in May 2007. Still Life Moves, his fourth album, reached stores on March 4, 2008. Six years later he returned with This Revolution, his sixth solo release, an ’80s electro-pop record whose sound recalled the Cure, U2, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, and Smashing Pumpkins. He pursued a comparable sonic direction on his seventh studio album, Above Sirens, which came out in 2017.
