Curtis Peoples

Songwriter Curtis Peoples blends acoustic folk textures with classic rock inflections into a sound he has labeled "coffee shop arena rock," while his incisive pop craftsmanship has drawn widespread critical praise. Born in San Diego, he moved to Los Angeles in 2005, where he swiftly gained traction on the local acoustic circuit, sharing bills with Tyler Hilton and others before issuing Whisper to a Scream later that year. Producer Marshall Altman attended one of his performances and agreed to helm Peoples’ first full-length album, the self-titled Curtis Peoples, released in 2008. Three years later came The Fight, which contained tracks co-written and produced by Mike Busbee and featured the singles “Afraid” and “Made for Me (Forever).”
