Biography
Hailing from Spain, minimal techno artist Alex Under maintains ties to the respected German imprint Traum Schallplatten alongside Net28, the Madrid-based collective that houses his own CMYK Musik imprint. Residing in Madrid, Under helped establish Net28 together with fellow Spanish minimal techno producers Damián Schwartz and Imek among others; the group encompasses these and additional artists plus the labels Apnea, Bemysheep, CMYK Musik, Cyclical Tracks, Mupa, and Pulpa. Under launched CMYK Musik in 2002 via the 12" Verde Guisante and continued with subsequent pressings such as Gris Oveja (2004), Rojo Par y Pasa (2005), Naranja Monje (2006), and Gris Anthemo (2007). Occasional 12" outings also surfaced on the Apnea label operated by Net28 associates Imek and José Villalobos, among them Multiplicanciones (2004) and Multiplicanciones2 (2006). His most prominent body of work appeared on Traum Schallplatten, encompassing the album Dispositivos de Mi Granja (2005) and the EPs Las Bicicletas Son Para el Verano (2005), Sorbere Cerebros (2005), Las Bicicletas Son Para el Verano Remixes (2005), Fe en Erratas (2006), 1,2,3, Responda Otrapez (2007), and Trapezones Erectos & Extrapezlo Remixes (2008). Additional output includes the 12" EP Collage (2006) issued on Richie Hawtin’s Plus 8 Records. Beyond solo work, Under issued material under the Música Charlista moniker in tandem with Damián Schwartz on CMYK Musik and Apnea; the Dolly la Parton alias on Bemysheep; Friendly People on Apnea and Cyclical Tracks; and the Varios alias on Apnea.
