Biography
Alexis Jordan, an R&B and pop vocalist, launched her professional journey at fourteen by auditioning for the 2006 edition of America’s Got Talent. Hailing from South Carolina, she advanced to the semifinals of this widely broadcast contest and received favorable comments from judge Simon Cowell. Following her departure from the program, she relocated to Atlanta with her relatives to pursue opportunities in the recording business. Recognition arrived in 2008 through the efforts of the production duo Stargate, known for crafting Rihanna’s “Take a Bow” and Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent,” who connected her with Jay-Z and secured a recording contract on his StarRoc/Roc Nation imprint. During the summer of 2010, her first release, “Happiness,” reached the pinnacle of Billboard’s Dance Airplay ranking. The subsequent year saw the arrival of her debut full-length project bearing her name.
