Biography
Audiotopsy emerged as a United States-based heavy rock quartet whose approach merges memorable melodic lines, direct metallic guitar aggression, and expansive atmospheric textures shaped by large-scale production values. The members describe their style as that of a "progressive hard rock band."
Guitarist Greg Tribbett, previously of Mudvayne and Hellyeah, joined forces with drummer Matt McDonough in 2014 to establish the group, which features vocalist Billy Keeton from Skrape and bassist Perry Stern. That same year the musicians began exchanging ideas and composing material, aiming to distinguish their work through inventive songcraft and theatrical delivery. Their chemistry quickly solidified, prompting sessions for a debut album at Orlando’s Porch Studio alongside engineer Tim Laud. Following interest from multiple record companies, the quartet ultimately aligned with Napalm Records. In July 2015 the track “Headshot” surfaced online as an early preview, with “The Calling” arriving the next month. Their first full-length effort, Natural Causes, reached stores in early October.
