Baby Ranks

Known to Latin urban audiences as Baby Ranks, David Luciano Acosta established himself as a reggaeton veteran by working underground well before the genre’s mainstream breakthrough near the year 2000. From the dozens of tracks and mixtape appearances that followed his 1994 start, his most notable success arrived with the hit “Mayor Que Yo,” a defining release of the mid-2000s reggaeton wave on par with Daddy Yankee’s “Gasolina.” The Luny Tunes-produced cut, which paired him with Yankee, Wisin & Yandel, Tonny Tun Tun, and Hector El Father, registered on three separate Billboard singles charts and topped the Latin Tropical Airplay list in 2005. After more than a decade spent recording for other acts, Baby Ranks issued his long-delayed solo debut, Mi Flow: This Is It, in summer 2008.
